Twitter closed 88,000 accounts promoting Saudi Arabia

Twitter said it had closed thousands of accounts, including those campaigning for Saudi Arabia and supporting the government there. Twitter has closed 88,000 accounts, striking government-sponsored efforts in social media.

The online service said that all 88,000 accounts that were closed were connected to the Saudi Arabia government and violated Twitter's rules for sharing information.

All the closed accounts were praised only by the government and they were all in Arabic, with the intention of clearly leaking any information to the Saudi authorities.

However, English-language Twitter was for Western audiences. ' Our internal analysis found that non-essential propaganda content was placed on various platforms across the network. The world map depicts Saudi Arabia's geographical area with great breadth.

Twitter's security team said in a blog post that it had released details of 5929 accounts, representing 88,000 suspicious accounts. Twitter's investigative team found the source of the scam to be in Saudi Arabia. All posts were compiled by Smart, a local social media marketing company.

Now a company was permanently blocked. Smart worked for Saudi Arabia's hyprofile individuals as well as for various government departments in Saudi Arabia. She used to use automated tools. The accounts compiled everything that was posted, Twitter said.
