The northern Alaska temperature in the US was minus 54 degrees: minus 43 on a 'hot' day!

Washington, Ta. December 28, 2019, Saturday

While we're freezing at ten-twelve degrees, the temperature in the northern part of the United States of America is minus 54 degrees (minus 65 F). Because Alaska is located near the North Pole, temperatures often drop to minus one.

But minus 54 degrees is a significant figure. Temperatures have been below zero here for the past ten days. The highest temperature was minus 43 degrees in the last ten days. That is, it was a hot or at least cold day in the recent cold days.

Minimum 30-35 degrees Celsius is common here as it is located at the north end. The lowest temperature here is minus 62 degrees. The temperature was recorded here on January 23, 1971.

Alaska is an entire icy province. There are small towns and isolated villages. Temperatures vary at each location. But there is no more than zero. The temperature was 54-55 degrees below zero before in 2012.

Every year, ten to eleven nights pass in the winter when the temperature does not rise to minus 40 degrees. In 1950, however, there was a time when the temperature was minus 40 degrees for 20 consecutive nights. The wind blowing here is also deadly. Ice particles are constantly flying with it.
