Sub-Lieutenant Shivangi's appointment as the first female pilot in the Navy

New delhi date. December 2, 2019, Monday

Shivangi was appointed as the first female pilot in the Indian Navy today. Captain Shivangi has become the pilot of the Indian Navy's surveillance aircraft, Dornier. He has been appointed at a boat station in Kochi.

From here it will fly Dornier. The naval day was celebrated on December 4th, just before the historic move was made in the Indian Navy. Shivangi said the Navy had women for years but was not in the cockpit. Now that loss is over.

Vice Admiral AK Chawla, commander in command of the Southern Naval Command at Kochi, gave an appointment letter to Sub Lieutenant Shivangi. To reach this stage he had to go through a 3 stage training process.

Shivangi had to undergo various types of training after being enlisted in the Navy in June last year. There were no female pilots in the Indian Navy so far. The Navy has now achieved that feat.

Sub Lieutenant Shivangi is a resident of Muzaffarpur in Bihar. Earlier, the Indian Air Force had also started the appointment of women pilots. As a result there are currently some female pilots in the Indian Air Force.

Women work in all three wings of the military. But until now important duties like pilot were not assigned to women. After passing various training, he is now entrusted with this duty.
