Notice to 130 rioters in UP

Yogi Adityanath's government has taken a strong stance in UP against storms that are harming public property through violent protests against the citizenship bill.

The government has initiated a process to recover the damage from the storms and as part of this, notices have been sent to 130 people. He will collect Rs 5 lakh from him. If they do not pay, their property will be forfeited.

Notices have been issued to 28 people in Rampur, 26 in Sambal, 43 in Bijnor and 33 in Gorakhpur. According to the government, public property during the riots in Rampur has lost 15 lakh, 15 lakh in Sambal and 19.7 lakh in Bijnor. Assessment is ongoing in Gorakhpur.

According to the administration, notices have been sent only to those who have been caught in video footage damaging government property or throwing stones. They are given a week to respond.
