Nirbhaya case: 'Date to date': Death warrant hearing held on 18th

Nirbhaya's parents apply for Supreme Court against reconsideration petition: Court says - will hear on May 17

New delhi date. December 13, 2019, Friday

In Nirbhaya case, Delhi court has another date on Friday. A hearing on the issue of death warrants was held in Patiala court in Delhi on Friday.

The court said that it will now hear Wednesday, December 18th, on the issue of death warrants for the four convicts in the case. Additional Sessions Judge Satish Kumar Arora on Friday adjourned the case and said that a trial of a convicted Akshay Singh in the case is due for hearing in the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

A court hearing of the petition of Nirbhaya's parents was held to expedite the execution of the death sentence for Nirbhaya convicts. The judge said, "I will have to wait till a guilty plea is pending in the Supreme Court." A review petition is due for December 17 in the Supreme Court. So until December 18th, I will postpone the case.

Requesting the court to issue death warrant, the government lawyer said that despite the petition pending in the Supreme Court, the court can issue death warrants to the guilty. Nothing can prevent a court from doing so.

During the hearing, Nirbhaya's parents also told the court that the culprits were trying to reverse the sentence. Later convicts Akshay, Mukesh, Pawan Gupta and Vinay Sharma were convicted in the Nirbhaya rape and murder case through video conferencing in in-chamber proceedings.

Meanwhile, Nirbhaya's parents have filed an interference petition against the convicted Akshay Singh's Supreme Court petition. Akshay Singh's reconsideration petition is set to be heard before a three-judge bench on December 17. The court said an open court hearing on the matter will take place.

Advocate from Nirbhaya's parents, Chief Justice S.K. a. Akshay Singh opposed the reconsideration petition before the bench of Bobde's chairmanship. The bench said that Nirbhaya's mother will also be heard at the hearing of Akshay's petition on December 17. Nirbhaya's mother said that I was satisfied with the court proceedings.

I've been waiting for seven years. I'll wait another week. I hope Akshay's reconsideration application will be canceled on the 17th and I will leave here on December 18th with a death warrant issue.

Wind executioner ready to execute Nirbhaya convicts

Jalad Pawan is ready in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut Jail to execute Nirbhaya convicts in Tihar Jail. Pawan Jalad said that his grandfather had executed the notorious criminals, Ranga and Badla, as well as the main assassin of Indira Gandhi.

55-year-old Pawan Jalad said that since there is no jailer in Tihar jail, Tihar Jail has asked Uttar Pradesh to provide two hangers on short notice. He is likely to be hanged since the Nirbhaya case is currently in the news. Pawan said his grandfather Kallu and father Babu were also executioners.
