Punta Arians, Ta. December 10, 2019, Tuesday

An Air Force aircraft with 38 people from Chile began operating in the open sea to find out where it was missing between Antarctica and South America.

The C-130 Hercules cargo plane, which departed from the southern city of Punta Arians on Monday evening for 4-55 minutes, was in contact, officials said. There was enough gasoline to remain in the air for several hours.

But seven hours after losing contact, officials said he was missing. The pilot may have made an emergency landing at sea, "said Eduardo Mosquera, commander of the Fourth Brigade of Punta Arians."

The exploration was launched by all available national and international aerial and maritime resources. He had started searching for the survivors, 'the Air Force said in a statement.

Uruguayan, Argentine and Chilean planes and ships joined in search of the missing plane, the official said. Chilean President Sebastien Pinera has flown to Argentina's new president, Alberto Fernandez Buenos Aires. They will constantly monitor rescue operations from the capital Santiago.

However, he had initially announced the departure of Punta Arians. The aircraft was missing when the maritime route between South America and Antarctica was flying from the Drake Passage.
