Indian Army Receives Modern Sig Solar Rifles

As part of the modernization of the Indian Army to counter militant terrorism day by day, the Army was given a modern Sig Solar 203 attack rifle.

These rifles will be used to fight terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. It was officially informed that 10,000 such rifles were given to Indian soldiers.

The media also reported that another 72,000 rifles had been ordered under the fast track movement to equip the Army's front line with the latest weapons.

These rifles are capable of both killing close enemies as well as shooting at distant enemies. This will increase the visibility of the fighters.

The first load of 10 thousand rifles was handed over to the commanders of the Northern Command in Jammu and Kashmir. US manufacturer Sig Solar makes these rifles.

India had entered into an agreement with the company to supply 72,400 attack rifles at a cost of Rs 700 crore. The US company agreed to ship the order within one year.

These agreements were made under the fast track movement in view of the ever-increasing threat from China and Pakistan.

Apart from Sig Solar, India was also preparing to equip its army with more than 7 lakh AK-203 assault rifles. This AK-203 is being manufactured with indigenous content in cooperation with Russia.
