Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has been hanged today in a sedition case. For the first time in the history of Pakistan, a military ruler has been sentenced to death.

(A special court bench headed by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmed Sheth has indicted 76-year-old former army chief Musharraf in the sedition case.

This is the first incident in the history of Pakistan that the army chief has been sentenced to death by hanging in a sedition case. Musharraf took power from the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in 1999 after a military coup. He was the President of Pakistan from 2001 to 2008.

Musharraf has been accused of violating the Constitution on November 3, 2007 and applying an emergency. In December 2013, a sedition case was filed against him. Musharraf was found guilty on March 31, 2014. Following the order of the Supreme Court, the Special Court has passed this judgment in the opinion of 2 v. 1.

Further details of this judgment will be given in the next 48 hours. The ruling rejected the demand that the cart be adjourned. It is worth mentioning that the former army chief went to Dubai in 2016 to seek medical treatment. However, Musharraf has not returned to Pakistan since then.

Justice Seth, Sindh High Court Justice Nazar Akbar and Lahore High Court Justice Shahid Karim had earlier ruled on November 19. Several days ago, Musharraf issued a video denying the sedition charges from the hospital.

According to media reports, Musharraf is currently very ill. However, Musharraf's legal team can appeal the death sentence to the Supreme Court. If the Supreme Court justifies the death sentence, Musharraf can appeal the country's president (president) to be hanged.
