Cold Freezing in North India: Minus 19 in Drass, 'Yellow' Warning in Himachal

Temperatures in northern India were also tense on Tuesday and the cold wave was reversing in several states. In some states, there has been snowfall, while the situation in Himachal Pradesh is worse.

Following this prediction, the government has been alerted and a team has been prepared for rescue operations in areas where the worst situation has occurred. Particularly in Kashmir, there is a high prevalence of vehicular traffic which has led to traffic jams due to snowfall,

About 154 machines have been installed here to remove the snow. Temperatures were below zero in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. While Punjab, Delhi and Haryana also got cold.

In Delhi, the night temperature was recorded at 9 degrees while day temperature was 22 degrees. The lowest temperature was in Kashmir, where the temperature of Kargil's desert reached minus 19 degrees, two days ago, though it was even colder and the temperature was 21.4 degrees.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to heavy snowfall in Kashmir and its adjoining states between December 10-14. Himachal Pradesh has the same status as Kashmir,

According to the Meteorological Department here, heavy rains may occur till the next 16th. Although snowfall has started recently and temperatures have dropped, yellow warning has been announced here.

In Killong, the temperature was minus 6.3 degrees. Punjab, Haryana had a foggy atmosphere. In Haryana, the temperature was recorded at 6.5 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh also recorded a high of 7.7 degrees Celsius. The coldest region in Rajasthan recorded Pilani where the temperature was 6.8 degrees.

Governments and weather departments in states where temperatures have dropped too low have issued a notification to alert people if they exit. This instruction has been given especially in Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir.
