Bogus certificate case against BJP MP Yadav, who defeated Jyotiraditya

(PTI) Ashoknagar, Ta. December 23, 2019, Monday

BJP lawmaker KP Yadav and his son, who defeated Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia in the Lok Sabha elections, were sued for giving false information for obtaining a non-creamy layer OBC certificate, police said today.

An FIR was filed against both the IPC's section 420 (fraud) 1208 (criminal conspiracy) 181 (for lying under oath to be a public servant) and 182 (for furnishing false information) under Madhya Pradesh's Kotwali district.

The Additional Police Commissioner said that the complaint was filed on the basis of a complaint made by the Mungawali Sub-Divisional Magistrate. The SDM was investigated in the wake of a complaint by local resident Giriraj Yadav. Under the non-creamy layer, the income limit of the person of OBC was Rs 6 lakh till 2017 which was later increased to Rs 8 lakh.

In 2014, Yadav provided false information to the authorities concerned about obtaining a non creamy layer certificate, an SDM investigation revealed. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Yadav defeated Scindia.

Yadav's son, Sarthak, also provided false information to obtain a non-creamy layer certificate in July this year. The information provided by the parents for obtaining a non-creamy layer certificate was different from the information provided in the election affidavit rather than the property of the crime MP and the income disclosed.
