After bringing in the National Citizens Register (NRC), the central government is now ready to submit a draft Parliament to amend the Citizenship Act of 1955. In this regard, a meeting of the Union Cabinet was started.
However, all opposition parties are protesting the government's move to determine citizenship on the basis of religiosity. The bill stipulates that non-Muslim people, including Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, Christians, etc. from Pakistan, can get Indian citizenship even without legal documents. Muslims are not included in this bill. Against this, so-called secular parties like Congress are concerned.
It is said that once the traveler has taken the visa and then the country is completing this step to prevent the people staying after the visa expires. Thousands of people come here on tourist visas from Pakistan, Bangladesh and other countries to watch cricket matches or travel to Ajmer Sharif or Kashi-Banaras. Then don't go back. It also often causes allegations that the rights of local citizens are compromised.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already announced about bringing such a bill.
