US President Donald Trump suddenly arrived in Afghanistan on Thanksgiving and announced the beginning of a peace talks with the Taliban.

US President Trump was on his way to Florida to celebrate Thanksgiving, and suddenly changed plans and reached Afghanistan. According to him this was not his official trip and his purpose was to enjoy Thanksgiving holiday.

He stayed in Afghanistan for 3.5 hours and spent most of his time with US troops. He had a meal with them, knowing that the soldiers were skilled. He also announced that he had begun an end to the ongoing conflict with the Taliban for the past 18 years.

However, Donald Trump refused to declare any timeframe for returning his troops from there. He said he intends to reduce the number of US troops in Afghanistan to 8,600. There are currently about 14,000 US troops stationed, but military officials have not confirmed the figures.

In fact, there is an unannounced plan behind Trump's trip to Afghanistan. Presidential elections are coming up in 2020, and Turkey and Afghanistan face a major challenge for Trump. Before the election, they want to end the peace process in Afghanistan so that the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan can be ensured.
