Two trains collide at Kachiguda station in Hyderabad, injuring 16 passengers

Two trains collided on Monday at the Kachiguda railway station in Hyderabad and injured 16 passengers. Efforts are being made to rescue the driver of the accidentally injured MMTS train by providing oxygen, including facilities.

According to information provided by South Central Railway officials, the Lingampalli-Falkanuma Multi Model Transport System (MMTS) train had an accident on Monday with the Kurnool-Secunderabad Railway Intercity Express (17028). In all, 13 people have been injured in the accident and two of them have been discharged after treatment.

The driver of the MMTS train was seriously injured in the accident and got stuck in the engine. Currently the seriously injured train driver is being treated with oxygen and efforts are being made to save his life.

Six trains of the Lingampalli-Falkanuma train and three coaches of the Kurnool City-Secunderabad Express were damaged in the collision between the two trains. About 12 passengers injured in the accident were rushed to Osmania General Hospital.

Two of them were discharged after first aid. An emergency rescue operation was started at the scene and a train was canceled. In addition, another train route was changed and five other trains were partially canceled.

Passengers were hit by a severe setback near Kachiguda Railway Station and suffered serious injuries to the head and knee area. The SCR has ordered a high-level investigation into the entire incident. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted the incident and described the action taken by the railway administration.
