Supreme Court angry over pollution issue in Delhi

Supreme Court advises Center to study how China and Japan deal with pollution problem

New delhi date. November 15, 2019, Friday

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the Delhi government and the central government over the issue of rising air pollution in Delhi-NCR. The Supreme Court has directed the chief secretaries of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to appear before the hearing on November 29 for failure to prevent pollution in the capital city.

The Supreme Court on the one hand said that there is no lasting solution to prevent pollution. On the other hand, all the concessions granted in the Odd-Evening have been canceled and asked for proper implementation. The Supreme Court also directed the Center to prepare a roadmap for setting up an air purifier tower in Delhi.

While hearing about pollution in Delhi-NCR, the Supreme Court questioned whether the Delhi government had any relief from air-pollution from aud-even. He also asked to submit statistics on this.

Taking a peek at the Delhi government, the Supreme said that the AQI level in Delhi today has crossed the 600 mark. How will people breathe in it? Similar is the case in people's homes. Everyone is affected by pollution.

Senior advocate Mukul Rohatki from the Delhi government told the Supreme that if the two-wheeler vehicles are not kept out in the scheme of Oudh-Ivan, it may help reduce pollution and improve the situation. The Supreme said that Odd-Even is not a permanent solution.

The Central Pollution Control Board, in particular, says that the car's contribution to pollution is only three percent. However, the Supreme should not allow anyone in the Odd-Even and it should be legally enforceable. The court noted that waste dumping, construction materials and road dust also contributed to pollution levels.

The Supreme Court quoted officials as referring to China and Japan, saying how these countries got rid of pollution should be studied. During the hearing, the Supreme asked how long it would take to install an air cleaning device?

In court, Expert said we have a device covering 1 km. 10 km to China The area is covered. The court asked why would you want to cover a smaller area? The Supreme Court directed the central government to prepare a roadmap for setting up an air purifier tower in Delhi.

In addition, the Supreme Court has once again issued notice to the Chief Secretaries of Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi on November 29. The court has questioned the steps taken to prevent the farmers from burning the fire. The four states are scheduled to file a certification by November 25.

In light of the Delhi government's contention that pollution in Delhi is causing pollution in neighboring states, the Supreme Court has said that Delhi's own contribution to pollution is 60 per cent. What have you done to prevent this pollution? The apex court had asked the secretaries of Punjab and Haryana to name their names in the state.

MPs and officials absent at the meeting on pollution issues

The meeting for pollution prevention has come against the deadly negligence of local MPs and officials at a time when pollution conditions in Delhi-NCR are extremely bad. There was a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Urban Development on Friday to discuss pollution in Delhi-NCR, but the meeting had to be postponed. The reason was that no MPs or officials reached the meeting. Only four MPs reached the meeting.
