New delhi date. November 3, 2019, Sunday

The political controversy over espionage has intensified through WhatsApp. The Congress has taken a similar stance against the Modi government and the BJP over the espionage of leaders, journalists and activists through the software of Israeli spy companies.

The Congress alleged that the government was directly involved in the espionage. On Sunday, Congress claimed that the phones of three leaders of the opposition, including their general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, were hacked by the government. WhatsApp sent a message saying that Priyanka Gandhi had also hacked her phone.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewal on Sunday said that WhatsApp is sending a message to those whose phones were hacked. Such a message has also been received by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. He said that now people are saying 'ab ki bar espionage government.' Congress spokesperson said that people have given BJP a new name - 'Bharatiya Spying Party'.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also claimed that her phone was hacked. The Congress said that the third leader was Praful Patel of the NCP, whose phone was hacked. He has previously served as civil aviation minister in the UPA government. No one is safe from spying from the Supreme Court to Parliament and state governments

Surjewal claimed that Congress had information on which Internet, Broadband networks were corrupted by Pegasus. The Congress also alleged that there was nothing untoward, from espionage to the Supreme Court to the Parliament and state governments.

The National Informatics Center runs on this National Internet backbone, which operates BSNL and VSNL. These pegasus spyware have also been found there. If this is the case, nothing will be left to the Supreme Court of the country, from Parliament to the Provincial and Government of the country.

While blaming the Modi government directly for the espionage of journalists, leaders and activists, Surjewal said Pegasus spyware could be sold only to the government and not to anyone else.

He said that during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Pegasus spyware taped the phones of leaders, journalists and activists and the government was aware of it. He claimed that the government was aware of the espionage but remained silent.

He added that on September 12, IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had a meeting with the Vice President of Facebook, but he did not raise the issue of hacking. There was a mysterious silence on this point.
