New delhi date. November 18, 2019, Monday

Kalapani is a triangle between Nepal, India and Tibet, "We should move our troops immediately from here," PM KP Oli said amid growing protests in Nepal.

KP Oli further stated that Kalapani is part of Nepal. This is the first time that the Prime Minister of Nepal has reacted in Johar over the controversy arising from the new official map of India.

India has shown its share to Kalapani in the new map. Kalapaani is located on the western end of Nepal. India has not yet responded to Prime Minister KP Oli's statement. However, India has stated that no maps have been made on the border border with Nepal.

Addressing the Nepal Youth Wing Nepal Youth Association of Nepal Communist Party on Sunday, KP Oli said that we should not let an inch of our land be occupied by anyone. India immediately withdraws its troops from here.

However, the Prime Minister of Nepal has rejected the suggestion that Nepal should issue a revised map. Oli said if India moves the army from our land, we will talk to him about it. There has been a week of protests in Nepal over Kalapani showing on the map of India. There is one to the opposite from the ruling party.

The Foreign Ministry of Nepal issued a statement on November 6 saying that Kalapa is a part of Nepal. According to Nepalese officials, after India's war with China in 1962, India moved all its border outposts from the northern belt of Nepal but not Kalapani.

What is the Kalapa dispute?

Uttarakhand Pithoudagadh district of Kalapa has 35 sq km of land. The Jawans of the Indo Tibetan Border Police are stationed here. The Indian state of Uttarakhand is bordered by 80.5 km from Nepal and 344 km border with China.

Kalapani is the origin of the river Kali. India has also added this river to the new map. In 1816 the Sugauli Treaty was signed between the East India Company and Nepal. At that time the Kali river was lined between East India and Nepal on the western border.

In 1962, there was a war between India and China, and the Indian army built a patrol in Kalapani. Nepal has claimed that Nepal had made a census here in 1961, before the Indo-China war and India did not object to it. According to Nepal, India's presence in Kalapani is a breach of the Sugoli Treaty.
