Nitish Kumar exacerbates BJP problem, campaigning for rebel leader in Jharkhand

New Delhi, November 20, 2019, Wednesday

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is doing more than the BJP's difficulty in Jharkhand assembly elections. Nitish Kumar is campaigning for BJP's senior leader Saryu Rai, who is contesting as an independent candidate against the chief minister in Jharkhand.

Saryu Rai was senior minister in the state government of Jharkhand. He was angry that he did not get the desired ticket in the polls and announced his resignation to Chief Minister Raghuvar Das as an independent candidate against the chief minister.

While Nitish Kumar and Saryu Das are Jigari Dostas and Jharkhand was not a separate state, Saryu Das first announced the details of Lalu Yadav's fodder scam.

Similarly, Saryu Das was at the forefront of uncovering the much-maligned Alcatra scandal in Bihar. Thus, Saryu Das is an old friend to Nitish and if he is campaigning for Saryu Das, it is likely that the present Chief Minister Raghuvar Das will fall.

Political observers believe that this incident may increase the tension of BJP's Mowadi mandal.
