Mid Day Meal Controversy: Only one liter of milk is distributed among 81 children!

A video of the distribution of water to 81 children by adding a bucket of milk to a liter of milk in Sonabhadra has gone viral recently, when it was revealed that only bread and salt were given to children in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, under the Mid-Day Meal Scheme.

Vegetable Rice and Milk were to be provided to the children of Salibanwa Primary School in Kota Gram Panchayat in Uttar Pradesh as per the menu of the lunch plan. Under it, only one liter of milk was poured into the bucket and the water was boiled and distributed among 81 children.

As soon as the video of the incident went viral, the authorities were notified and milk was distributed again to the primary school children. According to Wednesday's menu, each baby was to be given 150 mm of milk but it was a matter of concern that only one liter of milk would give milk to 81 children.

There are 171 students enrolled in the Salaibnava Primary School and only 81 students were present on Wednesday.

General Chat Chat Lounge After the incident, the in-charge of the school started defending itself when a member of the village panchayat ward who was present complained about the health of the children. At present, convicted Shikshamitra has been discharged and additional investigation has been conducted.
