Maharashtra's choice to raise 'salvation': final decisions today

Shiv Sena has 16, NCP 15 and Congress 12 in the allocation of ministries

(By Representative) Mumbai, Ta. November 22, 2019, Friday

In the new political equation prepared to keep BJP out of power in Maharashtra, a joint Mahavikas coalition government of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress has been decided.

But the draft of the Common Minimum Program between the three parties is still incomplete as there will be debate tomorrow. Besides, the three parties had agreed in the name of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray at a joint meeting of the three parties, said NCP chief Shapad Pawar.

The Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress have to make some compromises for the formation of the government, in which the Congress-NCP has reserved the issue of reservation to the Muslims while the Shiv Sena has set aside the demand for giving Bharat Ratna to Vir Savarkar. The three parties will meet again on Saturday as there is no consensus on issues.

The formula for presidential allocation between the three parties has also been prepared, sources said. Not so. The senior leaders of the three parties will go to the Raj Bhavan tomorrow and claim to form a government against Governor Bhagat Singh Koshari, sources said.

A joint meeting of senior leaders of Congress-NCP and Shiv Sena was held this evening at the Nehru Center. The meeting discussed in detail the draft prepared on the Common Minimum Program.

Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan made the statement that the debate is still pending and the debate will take place tomorrow. Various issues are being thoroughly debated between the three parties and our understanding is going in a positive direction. So tomorrow the discussion will be ahead. And the final decision will be taken, Prithviraj Chawham added.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray said that some issues were still under discussion. While a final decision will be taken, senior leaders of the three parties will be announced at a press conference. Most of the issues have been agreed, but some issues are under discussion, he said.

Sharad Pawar said that Uddhav Thackeray's name has been agreed for the post of Chief Minister. But Uddhav Thackeray did not agree on this, Pawar said. However, late in the night, Uddhav Thackeray was ready to become the chief minister, said Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut.

The final decision of the three parties will be taken tomorrow, after which the leader of the three parties will visit Governor Bhagat Singh Koshari to go to Rajbhavan to claim formation of the government. The process required to form a government will begin with the governor, sources said. Apart from this, the formula for distribution of contribution to the government has been prepared.

The cabinet of the new coalition will have 16 ministers, including 11 chief ministers, 11 cabinets and five state-level Shiv Sena while 15 ministers in the NCP's account, including 15 ministers, may have 11 cabinet and 4 state ministers. Also, Congress has nine cabinet and 12 state ministers in 12 ministers. However, the Congress wants the post of Deputy Chief Minister.

Apart from this, Congress will be able to take over the Speaker in the Legislative Assembly. Sources said. Meanwhile, a meeting of newly-elected legislators was held at Matoshree in Bandra this morning. In that, Uddhav Thackeray gave details of the discussion on the matter of Maha Vikas Aghadi and canceled them from going to Jaipur, and ordered Uddhav Thackeray to stay in Mumbai.

The Mahavikas coalition had to be adopted instead of the Mahasiv coalition

Congress and the NCP Since the secular ideas are the mainstream parties, the Shiv Sena has nominated Mahavikas Aghadi's government as a new equation instead of Mahashiv Aghadi.

Shiva is the word of Hinduism. The Congress and NCP raised the issue that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's name is coming up in it. Putting the name Vikas in place of this Shiva meant that Shiv Sena agreed to the Mahavikas Aghadi name of the three-party equation.

Coalition with Shiv Sena equals 'suicide': Sanjay Nirupam

Congress opposes decision to form government with Shiv Sena

While the Congress decision to form a government in Maharashtra with the Shiv Sena is almost done, only a few leaders of the Congress party are voicing their opposition.

Former Mumbai Pradesh Congress president Sanjay Nirupam said joining hands with Shiv Sena seems to be akin to suicide for Congress. Sharing the Shiv Sena-led government as the third largest party is a preparation for the fall of the Congress. Thus, the best part is that the Congress president should not be under any pressure.

'Years ago, the Congress had made such a mistake by having an alliance with the BSP in Uttar Pradesh, after which the Congress party could not sit there yet. We are making the same mistake in Maharashtra, ”he added.

We oppose cooperating with the army, but no one listens to us, "a Congress legislator said on condition of anonymity.

Bullet train project in Maharashtra now falling short

Possibility to use the money for the bullet train in place of the farmer's debt waiver center in the trilateral Common Minimum Program.

Mumbai, Ta: 22

In the present scenario and possibility, if the Congress and NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) succeed in forming a Shiv Sena-led government in Maharashtra, the cost of the bullet train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai will be Rs. The work worth Rs 108 lakh crore is likely to be halted.

While the issue of welfare of the state's farmers and the waiver of agricultural loans at the center of the Common Minimum Program (CMP-Shared Minimum Agenda) prepared between the three parties is a source, the sources said that the three parties have agreed to withhold the payment of Maharashtra in the cost of bullet train project. Instead of paying for a bullet train, the money will be used to launch a universal debt forgiveness plan within the first one hundred days after the tripartite government assumes power.

Earlier, the Maharashtra government had agreed to contribute its share in the cost of bullet train. But now this part of the money will be used in the farmers' debt waiver scheme, "said a former Congress minister who was involved in talks with the NCP and the army over the CMP.

As per the financial arrangement for this project, the Maharashtra Special Purpose Vehicle issued for the project has a 25% equity stake in it, with Rs. It had agreed to pay a capital expenditure of Rs.5,000 crore. In addition, Maharashtra had decided to contribute 25% of the cost of construction of the entire railway.
