Jammu and Kashmir heavy snowfall killers cold: Two dead, life stoppage

Jammu and Kashmir has been experiencing heavy snowfall for the past four days. Which has ruined the lives of the people there. Heavy snowfall has led to a resurgence of cold waves across the state. Temperatures have dropped sharply at various places in the state.

Srinagar's maximum temperature was 3.4 degrees Celsius. Which is about 14 degrees less than normal. Besides, two people have also lost their lives due to the snowfall. Two people have died due to avalanches near LoC in Gulmarg, Kashmir.

In the winter capital of the state, Jammu also has a temperature drop of 5 degrees below normal. The lowest temperature in the state was recorded in Gulmarg. People in Gulmarg were frozen at minus 4.8 degrees Celsius.

Apart from this, Pahlgam, Kupwada near the border and Kokrang city of south Kashmir have also frozen below zero. The temperature was minus 1.3 in Pahlagam, minus 1.6 in Kupwada and minus 0.96 degrees in Kokare. In many parts of Jammu, the temperature is below zero.

On the other hand, heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir has destroyed the apple crop. This has created a big problem for the farmers. Thousands of crops were damaged in apple orchards. Farmers say they have never seen a blizzard since early November.

According to informants, the loss of trade to Kashmir in three months after the removal of Section 370 was due to snowfall. Due to heavy snowfall, roads are still closed in many areas and power supply is also lost.
