Urban unemployment in the country has dropped to 9.3 percent from January to March 2019, according to data released by the government today. From April to June, 2018, the urban unemployment rate was 9.8 percent.

However, unemployment rates for January to March 2019 are not given in the government-issued data.

The Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation has issued a quarterly bulletin from January-March, 2019. According to a statement issued by the ministry, this bulletin estimates the index of the labor force for urban areas.

According to data released by the government, the jobless rate in urban areas in January-March, 2019 was 8.7 percent. The rate was 9 percent in April-June, 2018.
