If you want to stay longer than 24 hours, get registration, new law of the Government of Meghalaya

New delhi date. Saturday, November 2, 2019

The Meghalaya government announced a new law on Friday, saying that people who have invested more than 24 hours in Meghalaya will now have to register. This rule does not apply to Central and State Government employees.

Recently, the central government announced plans to deport people living in Assam by implementing the National Register of Citizenship in the northeastern states. Following this there were reports of some people leaving Assam and coming to Meghalaya.

Therefore, the state government enacted this new rule from November 1. The state government of Meghalaya's Democratic Alliance amended the Residence Safety and Security Act 2016 and added these provisions.

The demand for the Inner Life Permit system has long been in place to prevent people from illegally infiltrating the state. This permit is issued by the Central Government to Indian citizens. These permits are used to live in a specific protected area.

Now the government of Meghalaya will issue such a permit. Based on that, you will be allowed to stay here longer.

Currently, such permit system is in operation in Nagbhumi, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh. Now such a system is being implemented in Meghalaya, Deputy Chief Minister of the state Preston Tinsong told the media.
