Delhi: BHU Deputy Chief Proctor resigns, unloading RSS flags from campus

Deputy Chief Proctor Kiran Damle of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has resigned. Students and local volunteers protested loudly and took out a complaint against the police as they hoisted the RSS flag on BHU campus in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh.

Kiran Damlay resigned as well. He was alleged that you try to incite people in the name of religion and caste and that you were removed from the campus without RSS flags. Local volunteers and students resigned amid fierce protests over the RSS's flagging off of flags.

Chandramahan, the RSS chief in Mirzapur district, lodged a police complaint. The charges were framed under Indian Penal Code, 153A, 295A, 504 and 5050 which included the charge of inciting people on the basis of caste religion, language etc.

Chandra Mohan said that for the past several years, a union branch has been held at a stadium near South Campus. On November 12, at seven o'clock in the morning, when such a branch was organized, Kiran Damle came and threw away the saffron flag. They were slammed by volunteers who tried to explain the importance of this flag to them. We didn't have to make a loose police case.

The prosecution also alleged that the country should implement the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya issue, "Kiran Damle said.
