Court allows Nawaz Sharif to travel unconditionally

Lahore, Ta. November 16, 2019, Saturday

The Lahore High Court on Friday rejected the Iranian government's claims and allowed the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's name to be removed from the flight list. It is noteworthy that Imran Khan's government made several attempts to stop Nawaz Sharif's foreign trip. During the hearing, the Pakistan government opposed the application of Nawaz Sharif's brother Shahbaz Sharif.

However, a bench of the court said if the former prime minister wanted to go abroad for his treatment, the court would allow it. At the same time, the Bench questioned the government whether the Imran government had received a mandate to remove Nawaz's name from the Exit Control List.

PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif also alleged that the government was doing dirty politics during Thursday's press conference. A minister of the Iranian government sought to allow Nawaz Sharif to go abroad only once and be conditioned to return within four weeks.

In addition, the government also demanded the payment of 7.5 billion Pakistani rupees bond with Sharif's family. Nawaz Sharif, who has been suffering from a serious illness for several weeks, could not go to England for treatment on Sunday due to anonymity from the ECL list.
