Congress is not with Shiv Sena on Goa issue

Mumbai, 30th November 2019, Saturday

We have just started, if you will. After four or eight days, miracles will be seen in Goa. The Congress had dissociated itself from the Shiv Sena's claim that we would establish our government there.

Twenty-four hours after Uddhav Thackeray was sworn in as Maharashtra's chief minister, party leader Sanjay Raut said that BJP did not get a majority in Goa in 2017, but had formed its own government by tearing down ten members of the Congress. Now we will form our government in Goa. Once that happens, we will have a non-partisan front.

Twenty-four hours after Raut's claim, Congress made its point on the issue. A spokeswoman for Congress said that this opinion is personal to Raut. We are good at the opposition.

Goa Congress president Girish Chodankar said, "We have no interest in buying the MLAs." It is enough that we are in opposition in the Goa Assembly. We do not want to overthrow the current government.
