The CBI raided Amnesty International's offices in Delhi and Bengaluru. The Human Rights Watchdog Group violated the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, the CBI said.

CBI raided human rights group Amnesty International India's offices in Delhi and Bengaluru. The CBI has filed a complaint against the institute for breach of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act. 36 crore was put on suspicion of mismanagement of foreign funding.

According to officials, funding from Amnesty International UK is also likely to be in turmoil. According to the CBI, the group did not even get the primary permission required under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act.

Amnesty International, on the other hand, said that the group was frequently voiced by the Human Rights Watchdog organization for violations of human rights in India, which has targeted the organization.

Sanstha said in the statement that it was in compliance with international norms besides India and there was no violation. It is worth mentioning that last year the EDA raided Amnesty. The ED had taken action at the time of allegations of foreign currency fraud. Then there was action under FEMA.
