Ahmedabad. November 23, 2019, Saturday

The Internet is known to have a profile of 1.8 billion people worldwide. These details are on the same server and the server is associated with the dark web. The 1.1 billion person profile includes many details, including phone numbers, addresses, e-mails, social media accounts. Usually people think that all their details are personal and safe, then this is an illusion. Because all the details are found on the same server in the section of the Internet called the Dark Web. The total amount of these details is equal to 5 gigabytes (GB).

What is the Dark Web?

The Dark Web is a section on the Internet that is more commonly used by hackers and online criminals. Usually when we search on Google or other sites, the information we get is from websites other than the Dark Web.

Normal users can't search the Dark Web. As most users do not know about the dark web. This is the underworld-like world of the Internet. Normal Internet users don't even need the Dark Web.

Fear of abuse

The details came in the hands of Winnie Troia, a technology expert who researched the Dark Web in October. Further investigation, it was found that the details of 2.5 billion people were saved in a single server.

The implication is that any hacker or internet savvy can hack all these details. On the other hand, if a company wants all this information, they can buy it. Winnie and his colleague Bob immediately discovered the data to the FBI. In the meantime, where online data is stored, it has been removed, meaning it has been taken offline. It is possible to put it back online on another server.

Biggest data leak scam

The available data available online includes more than 10 million phone numbers and 8 million e-mails.

Luckily this information does not contain sensitive details like passwords, credit-debit cards, online banking. Yet this is by far the largest data leak scandal in the history of the Internet.

Because being online, it is not possible to say in the hands of whom. It can also go into the hands of terrorists, into the hands of marketing companies, and into the hands of the enemy country.

Data hackers may have reached?

Winnie said all of this data has been merged with the social media profile.

Whoever has done this operation, seems to be using it as a means of hacking. In the meantime, the server was found to be in Google's cloud service. Anyone can use Google's cloud service. For this reason, no one even knows if they have got all this data before. It's possible that someone has accessed all these details.
