When Gandhi said that to save money on fireworks in Diwali, Khadi should be worn

New Delhi, October 24, 2019 Thursday,

Gandhi wrote in a Young India issue on October 3 to know Gandhiji's thoughts on fireworks in Diwali. Gandhiji replied that if I went, Diwali's holidays would force people to clean their homes and educate their children to find harmless ways. I know children have a lot of fun with fireworks, but we as elders have made the kids fireworks.

I saw in Africa that children of the simple nature of dance have no problem with such (fireworks). Some money left over from the fireworks should also be given to Khadi. Donations should be made at a place where poor people are served. There can be nothing more exciting for female male children and the elderly.

Gandhi also expressed his views on the fireworks on the wall. According to a Hindi website, Gandhi wrote in the daily issue of October 8 that if we say that Kaliyug has no right to celebrate Diwali with pomp, then it is not exaggerated. Gandhi wrote this in reference to the British government's atrocities against Hindus. At that time Gandhiji started a nonviolent agitation of non-cooperation, so bursting fireworks and saying in respect of people celebrating Diwali.

Another mention of Diwali fireworks was also made in Gandhi's speech on October 7. He said at the meeting that I had received some letters in which complaints had been made regarding fireworks. Indeed, this complaint about fireworks is true. I have said before, but I do not know the impact of my saying, Gandhiji cited the rapidly changing events in the independence country and said that when Holi is burning all around, bursting fireworks on Diwali, lighting ghee oil lamps and eating sweets. Don't
