Uttar Pradesh buses on devotees again

While returning to pay a visit to Vaishnava Devi, a family was sleeping on the sidewalk in Buland city early this morning. Police said the driver of the bus fled.

The police officer said that the residents of Chandapa in Hathras district had accompanied their relatives and some villagers on a pilgrimage to Vaishnava Devi. On his return, he landed at Narura in the city of Buland and fell asleep on the footpath of the Gandhi Ganga Ghat. At about four o'clock in the morning, another bus carrying the pilgrims was struck again, killing seven people.

Katara, where the Vaishnava goddess sits, is 770 km from Naraura. Upon hearing of the incident, the Circle Officer and other officers of the Dibai reached the scene. The locals gathered at the scene and protested the accident.

The police had pacified them and the bodies were sent for postmortem. The Chief Minister of the state expressed sadness over the incident and urged the family of the victims to pay Rs one lakh for each. Will be punished.
