A new controversy has emerged after police lodged a complaint against 49 celebrities who wrote a letter to PM Modi against the events of mob lynching.

Ramchandra Guha, Mani Ratnam, Anurag Kashyap and Aparna Sen were among those who filed a police complaint against him.

It is worth mentioning that celebrities from different sectors expressed concern over mob lynching and wrote a letter to PM Modi in July.

Subsequently, UP prosecutor Sudhar Kumar Ojha filed a petition in the local court against the celebrities who wrote the letter. In which he said that the letter-writing celebrities have worked to degrade the image of the country. He is underestimating the good work of PM Modi.

The court then ordered the police to file a complaint against these entities. The chief judicial magistrate passed the order on August 20, according to lawyer Ozanu. On the basis of which an FIR has been registered at the police station. It has been accused of sedition, public outrage and religious sentiment and breach of peace.
