Srinagar, Date: 8th October 2019, Tuesday

Tourism hobbyists will be able to travel to Jammu and Kashmir from the 10th of the current month, a government spokesman said. He said that Governor Satyapal Malik had given permission to resume tourism after discussions with the Home Secretary and others regarding the defense.

On the fifth of August this year, the Central Government canceled the 370th Article giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir two or three days before the tourists in the state were ordered to leave immediately and after that the last two months the tourism in Jammu and Kashmir was completely stopped. Amarnath Baba's pilgrims were also urged to leave the state soon after the tour was canceled. Now the Amarnath Yatra will probably be resumed. The governor had told his secretary that the ban on tourism should be removed immediately. The mandate goes into effect on October 10th.

So now Shokhina will be able to travel to Jammu and Kashmir again. However, security forces are still performing duty in many sensitive places in the state. However, since the block development council elections in Jammu and Kashmir last week, security forces have been kept in check.
