Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to fly fighter jet

New delhi date. 4 October 2019, Friday

Rafael Dashera, the first fighter aircraft of France's creation, will meet India. The aircraft is a game changer in the air war.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Dashera will be the first to fly the Rafale aircraft. Earlier, he had flown in a Tejas plane that was completely indigenous. India received the first light combat fighter aircraft Tejas in 2016. Then this will be the first time any foreign-made fighter aircraft is included in the Indian Air Force.

India had signed 36 such fighter jets with France. Dussehra will be the first of these aircraft to India. In Indian tradition and culture, it is customary for Dussehra to surrender. Coincidentally, this fighter plane will also meet Dussehra in India. The first four aircraft of the 36 will arrive at Ambala Airport in May this year.

A special ceremony in France will be attended by the Minister of Defense for both India and France and top military officials from both countries.

The first 16 Rafale aircraft will join the Indian Air Force's 17th Squadron Golden Arrows. The next 16 aircraft to arrive in 2022 will be at West Bengal's Hasimara airport.
