Calcutta: Work with the Left: Sonia Gandhi's Teaching to Workers

Kolkata, Ta-12 October 2019 Saturday

Congress president Sonia Gandhi called on the Trinamool Congress and party workers to face the BJP in West Bengal.

West Bengal Congress leader Abdul Mannan met Sonia Gandhi in the capital city New Delhi on Thursday evening and then returned to Kolkata to inform party workers about the conversation with him.

He said that if Congress had aligned itself with the leftists in 2016, the situation would have been different today. He told me that in order to win BJP and Trinamool Congress, we should create a united front by connecting with the Left.

In West Bengal, the BJP is slowly gaining ground and its position is gradually strengthening. That is why Congress should immediately create a strong opposition party by joining hands with the Left.

Congress sources believe that the party is slowly losing its support in West Bengal, so there is an urgent need for the Left to work together.
