An Indian Air Force trainer, MiG-21, crashed on Wednesday morning in the Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh. Luckily, both the aircraft's pilot group captain and squadron leader escaped unharmed.
The plane, which dropped off from the Air Force's Gwalior Airbase, crashed into a field near the airbase at 10am. The reason for this is to be investigated. However, both pilots aboard the plane were evacuated.
A week ago, an unmanned DRD vehicle crashed in the Chitradurga area of Karnataka. The crash occurred in the DRC's test range, the Chailcare Aeronautical Test Range.
The Indian Air Force's Sukhoi 30 aircraft crashed in Tejpur area of Assam a month ago. However, both pilots survived the incident. The aircraft was also flying as a part of regular training.
It seems that the Indian Air Force needs immediate action to prevent such accidents. Even trainer planes are not cheap. It costs a great deal.
