(PTI) Hong Kong, Ta. September 2, 2019, Monday

High school students in Hong Kong joined their white uniforms with gas masks, goggles and strong hats in support of democracy.

It is worth mentioning that the demonstrations have been going on in Hong Kong for the last three months in support of democracy. The protesters were demanding an investigation into democracy and police behavior. It is worth mentioning that after the summer vacation in Hong Kong, schools started today.

Today, Chinese university students also joined in the demonstrations. School students also left their classes and joined the banners. The banner wrote that if the future is not good then there is no need to go to class.

Hong Kong Education Secretary Kevin Yeung said that I hope students will learn in the classroom. He said in a statement that schools should not be used to fulfill political demands.

Demonstrators are demanding that charges against the arrested protesters be removed and Hong Kong residents are seeking a withdrawal of a bill that would send them to China for trial.

According to Hong Kong residents, when the British handed over Hong Kong to China in 1997, the promises that China made to Hong Kong residents were now breaking the Chinese government.

Today, protesters also tried to stop the train service. Earlier on Sunday, MTR Corporation had stopped train service on Sunday. It is worth mentioning that the protesters broke the ticket machine at Prince Edward Station.

It is worth mentioning that there have been violent clashes between police and demonstrators over the past few days. According to police, the protesters were throwing petrol bombs and stones at the police. In response, police are using water cannons, tear gas, rubber bullets and batons to disperse the protesters.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong chief executive Kerry Lam has said talks will begin only when the demonstrations are completely closed. Administrative Secretary Matthew Chiyung Kin Chung also said that we have been told many times that talks will not be initiated under any circumstances until the violence is completely stopped.
