... So the Motor Vehicle Act is not implemented here because of this

New delhi date. September 1, 2019, Sunday

PM Modi has begun making big decisions early in his second term. This is why the government has passed many laws in the first session of Parliament. There is also a Motor Vehicle Act. The Motor Vehicle Act has been implemented in the country since today. What is special is that there are two states in the country where this Act has not been implemented.

It is worth mentioning that the two states opposed the Modi government's laws. And that is why this law has been implemented in the whole country today but it has not been implemented in these two states.

The law has not been implemented in these two states

The government of Rajasthan and West Bengal did not enforce the Research Motor Vehicle Act. These two states are already opposing the law. Although objections were made in a few other states, the law has now been implemented.

This is the reason not to apply

In Rajasthan and Bengal, there is a major reason for not implementing the Motor Vehicle Act. The two states have decided not to apply the Act to the region due to other provisions, including a penalty amount of 10 times.

Along with these two states, Madhya Pradesh has also shown its inability to enforce the law at present. The Transport Minister has said that he will implement the law with some modifications.

Has the power to review

Rajasthan Government Transport Minister Pratap Singh Khattarivasan says that although the act is aimed at preventing accidents, collecting high fines will increase corruption. The government has the power to review the law. We will take a decision after reviewing the penalty amount.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has decided not to enforce the law based on the penalty amount itself. However, the law is not believed to have been enforced since Mamata Banerjee and the Center have been under tension since the time of the Lok Sabha elections.

The central government had argued that if the penalty amount was increased then the rules would be followed and there would be a reduction in road accident. On the other hand, the Rajasthan government believes that if this law is implemented then corruption will increase.
