Senior advocate Ram Jethmalani passes away at 95, PM Modi laments

Senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani passed away at the age of 95. Ram Jethmalani had been ill for a long time. Ram Jethmalani had been ill for more than a week and had no physical condition to rise from the bed. Many were also weakened by illness.

Ram Jethmalani's son Mahesh said his funeral will be held this evening at Lodhi Road Cemetery. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over the demise of famous lawyer and former law minister Ram Jethmalani.

Narendra Modi tweeted that India has lost an extraordinary lawyer and a respected public figure since the demise of Ram Jethmalani. Ram Jethmalani has made rich contributions to both the court and the MP. Which is funny, adventurous and never retreats from speaking boldly on any topic.

PM Modi said, One of the best aspects of Shri Ram Jethmalani was his ability to speak his mind and he did so without fear. During the crisis days, the fight for their independence and public liberty will be remembered. Helping those in need was an integral part of their personality.

Prime Minister Modi tweeted, "I consider myself fortunate that I had the privilege of interacting with Ram Jethmalani." My condolences to his family, friends and fans in these tragic moments.
