Rupa Gurunath becomes chairman of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association

Rupa Gurunath became the president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), the daughter of former BCCI president N Srinivasan. This is the first case of any woman becoming the president of any cricket association in the country.

The decision was made unanimously at the 87th annual TNCA meeting on Thursday. This is the first case in the history of cricket in the country. However, it was not formally announced that Rupa Gurunath became the chairman of the TNCA. The selection was made as per the order of the Supreme Court.

The matter of the TNCA election is currently in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court allowed the election on a condition that the results of the election be declared after the ratification of the Supreme Court. Thus, the rally was unanimous at the annual TNCA meeting on Thursday. It will be formally announced that Rupa will become the chairman after the Supreme Court keeps this up.
