Relief in the Trade War: China prepares for US meeting with US in October

Beijing, Ta. September 5, 2019, Thursday

According to information provided by China, a trade story will be held once again between Washington and China in Washington beginning in October. It is worth mentioning that after the US increased tariffs on Chinese goods, communication was suspected to be disrupted.

The trade war between the United States and China is damaging the world economy and raising concerns about a global recession. However, at present the news has come against relief from China. China is preparing for a high-level dialogue with the United States in October.

China's Commerce Ministry said the two countries agreed to hold talks at the beginning of October. Following a conference call between Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Liu Hei, US Business Representative Robert Lighthizer and US Finance Minister Steven Manuchin, the two sides agreed to hold talks.

China's Commerce Ministry said the two sides were ready to work together and take practical steps to create a better environment. The business teams of the two countries will start the dialogue from mid-September to mid-May, and high-level talks will be held in early October. Last July, the two parties met for the last time in Shanghai to hold talks but the meeting did not yield any results.

The US has begun imposing a 15 percent higher import tax on many Chinese products since Sunday. In response, China has announced an additional tax on US crude oil imports.

In addition, China has filed a complaint against the US tariff at the WTO. The United States also announced that it would raise tariffs on China's imports of about $ 250 billion from October 1 to 25 percent.
