There is fury among the people after the new Motor Vehicles Act has been imposed on them for violating traffic rules.

Expressing anger over social media over the issue, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari made a statement saying that people need to fear the law.

Responding to a question that people are getting thousands of rupees in fine, Gadkari said, "Who will be responsible for the accident if it does not comply with the traffic rules?" The government did not intend to increase the penalties. Importantly, there should come a time when there is no penalty and all people are obeying traffic rules.
