Johnson lost majority by joining Conservative MP Liberal Democrats

London, Ta. September 3, 2019, Tuesday

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has lost a majority in parliament amid an ongoing debate in the House of Commons on Brexit on Tuesday. Conservative MP Philip Lee joined the Liberal Democrats during the ongoing debate over the Brexit issue.

Lee's inclusion in the Democrats directly means that Johnson no longer has a majority in parliament to run the government. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was addressing the House of Commons while Philip Lee sat on the opposition bench.

Lee said in a statement that the government was moving forward in an inappropriate and harmful manner to Brexit, posing a threat to the lives and livelihoods of British people.

It is worth mentioning that before Lee's inclusion in the Democrats, Johnson had only one MP more than the opposition. Opposition parties have strongly welcomed Lee's decision. Addressing the House of Commons, Johnson said he wanted to exit the European Union through talks. He said there was a strategy behind the talks.

Lee said in a statement that there was a big difference between the party that joined the Conservative Party in 1992 and the time when I resigned from the party today.
