Jharkhand jailed for 25 years for two counts of rape

Two important verdicts were heard today in a Jharkhand court in which one man was sentenced to life imprisonment for raping two men in one case, and another for murdering thieves for allegedly stealing food.

In the first case, a 2-year-old girl was raped in Syndega by two men. Additional district judge sentenced Kumar and Ajay Mishra to two to two years in prison. Apart from jail, the fine was also imposed on the ten thousand rupees.

If both fail to pay the fine, then they will face an additional six months in prison. This happened on October 3, when the victim was on medication. The accused kidnapped the girl and took her to the Ranikudar Jhumka hills where she was raped in a field.

Police arrested the girl, both from Sindega, while the girl was filing a complaint. The same court on Friday sentenced 6-year-old Sonu Lohara to six years rigorous imprisonment for rape of a minor.

Last year, the accused also fined Rs 10,000. In the Dumka case, Mukherjee was sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering two boys on suspicion of theft.
