Jethmala has always been an expensive lawyer, taking such a fee

Senior Supreme Court lawyer Ram Jethmalani has passed away at the age of 95. They had been ill for a long time. In his nearly 70-year career as a lawyer, he fought a number of major cases. From Indira Gandhi's assassin to Afzal Guru's case, Jethmalani also acted as a pariah.

You may be surprised to know that Ram used to charge around Rs 25 lakh for a case of Jethmala. Given their enthusiasm for the case, clients were willing to pay whatever amount they could.

Jethmala was also charged separately for hearing each case. His trial fee in the court was between Rs 10 and 20 lakh. Ram Jethmala is a senior lawyer as well as a Rajya Sabha MP. He also served as law minister in the NDA government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Apart from politics and advocacy, he also had a special interest in sports. Jethmala's Batminton loved watching and playing. He also built an indoor badminton court in his MP residence.
