Apart from Hindi and English, its users will also be able to find content in Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati and Malayalam. The day before Google Assistant was updated, Amazon announced that Alexa will now be able to communicate in Hindi and Hinglish.

Google's VC Manuel Branston said that the use of 'voice' is increasing in Indians to find something and Hindi is the second most used assistive language after English in the world.
