Eight prisoners killed in eastern China prisoner knife attack

A young man in China has brutally murdered eight children of a primary school with a knife. Apart from this, two children were also injured in the attack. The young man is a former prisoner and has just been released from prison. According to local media reports, the incident happened around 8am on Monday morning.

Earlier this man tried to blind his girlfriend, for which he was arrested. He was released from jail after completing his sentence in May.

Then on Monday, he entered a primary school in Choyongpo Grade School in the city of Byungping, Anshi County, Hubei, with a knife. The age of the dead and injured children is between six and thirteen. In China, the incidence of attacks by disgruntled people at school with knives and axes has increased this year.

The 40-year-old accused was arrested immediately after the incident. He spent eight years in prison for blinding his girlfriend. The attack took place on the first day of the start of the new school year. Locals were outraged after the incident. Earlier, 20 students were injured in one such incident. The cause of the attack has not yet been determined.
