The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which was released this morning as a trial by the Department of Defense Organization (DRDO), collapsed during the trial itself. The UAV was named Rustam Two.
Defense Department scientists rushed to the spot soon after receiving the news. The accident took place in Jodichikanhalli area of Chitradurga district.
The experiment was taking place in the Aeronautical test range of the Chilcare. The unmanned aircraft is being researched by DRDO here. The crash happened around this range.
Chitradurga police superintendent said during a conversation with the media that the UAV, named Rustam Two, crashed into an open area at 6am this morning.
People around were unaware of the experiment and the UAV, so the crowd was frozen there. He said it was a curious incident to his mind, the police superintendent said.
The DRDO is constantly exploring new aspects of the Indian Army's tri-wing and defense issues. Today this was an experiment.
