29 Thousands of youth apply in Jammu and Kashmir, inviting enthusiasm for Indian Army

Thousands of youths have joined the army for the first time since the cancellation of special status in Jammu and Kashmir.

Especially in Chenab and Pir Panjal area, 29 thousand youths were allowed to join the army. According to a military spokesman, 40 percent of the youth applying for recruitment were Muslim.

The recruitment drive, which started on Tuesday, is scheduled to last a week. 2500 youths from Ramvan and Kistwad area attended the recruitment. 3600 youths came from Doda. However there are some conditions of the military for recruitment such as fitness and the ability to work hard. Eight thousand youths from Rajouri district came to join the army.
