Thomas Cook, a 178-year-old travel company from Britain, has announced the closure of his business. The company facing financial crisis, which did not receive personal investment and bailout package from the government, announced the closure of the business with immediate effect. 6 lakh pilgrims are stuck due to this decision of the company. The company's decision will also hurt its 22,000 employees.

The company said Friday that it needed $ 25 million to keep its business running. Failing to achieve that, the company has finally decided to close the business.

In the meantime, the British Government has made special arrangements for the return of 1.5 million pilgrims from Thomas Cook to Britain. Britain's Transport Secretary Grant Shops has said that the British Government and the UK Civil Aviation Authority have leased several charter planes to return Thomas Cook's customers back home.

Thomas Cook started a travel company in 1841. Britain's Transport Secretary has said that the news of Thomas Cook's closure is very tragic for his staff and pilgrims. The Government and the UK CAA are working 24 hours a day to help those stuck overseas. This task is too big. This peacetime is considered to be the largest in British history.

Thomas Cook's chief executive Peter Frankhausen has apologized to employees and pilgrims for closing the company. Before leaving for New York to attend the UN General Assembly, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said all possible efforts would be made to bring back the stranded foreigners.

Meanwhile, Thomas Cook India said in a statement on Saturday that "we have nothing to do with Britain's Thomas Cook Company." The company insists that Thomas Cook India is a completely separate company. Which is owned by Canada's Fairfax Financial Holding.

The closure of British company Thomas Cook Plc will not affect the Indian company. It is worth mentioning that in 2012, Thomascook sold to Thomasfuck India's stake in Fairfax Financial, a stake in Britain.
