1500 flights canceled on British Airways pilot strike: pay dispute

(PTI) London, Ta. September 9, 2019, Monday

British Airways said today that it was forced to cancel all flights departing from all UK airports on the first day of the pilot strike. British Airways said in a statement, despite several months of efforts to resolve the pay dispute, that no settlement could be made.

The airline said it was ready to negotiate with the British Airline Pilot Association. "Unfortunately for the reasons why the pilot will strike, we are forced to say that some pilots will return to work or it is difficult to say which aircraft they are capable of flying. That's why we have another." We canceled all flights as no option, ”the airline said.

A nine-month salary dispute broke out between Britain's leading airline and its 4,500 pilots, leaving nearly three million people traveling. The pilots will continue their strike on Tuesday and plan to go on a one-day strike on September 27 as well.
