Wholesale inflation drops to 1.08 percent in July: a 25-month low

In July, inflation-based inflation, based on inflation, fell to 8.5 percent, indicating a six-month low. In the third month in a row, inflation based on inflation-dependent inflation has declined. The fall in food prices, fuel and manufacturing items led to a sharp drop in the inflation based on inflation in July. Yesterday, the Consumer Price Index-based retail inflation was announced yesterday. That was a decline of 5.7% in June compared with the previous month

Now that the Consumer Price Index-based retail inflation and real estate inflation-based inflation have declined, RBI is likely to reduce interest rates. However, RBI only considers retail inflation when determining interest rates.

Gastrointestinal inflation accounts for 5% of weighted food inflation in the estimated inflation. Food inflation in the month of July stood at 8.5 percent. According to data released by the Ministry of Commerce in June, it was 5.5 percent.

In terms of food items, potato prices fell by 6.5 per cent in July. In June, potato prices were down by 5.5 per cent. Vegetable inflation in July stood at 8.5 percent. That was 8.5 percent in June.

However, in July, fruit prices rose by 8.4 per cent. Fruit inflation stood at 8.9 percent in June. The growth rate of inflation was 6.3 per cent, with an increase of 8.5 per cent, based on inflation. In June, the figure was minus 8.2 percent.
